Class 9: Testing your Mettle?

My girls going for gold last weekend!!
The penultimate class.  I realize that everyone is probably exhausted and trying their best to keep up with the workload. . .I know I am doing my best to keep up with the grading ;)  The good news is that we really don't have anything new this week except to finish all the pending assignments and to compete the final 4 NETS narratives, with the accompanying Symbaloo TPE 14 webmix.  Tonight, I'll give you some time to complete work in the lab.  There may be some lingering iMovie questions or Weebly issues.  Then we'll learn how to put the iMovie on the website and discuss how to get the rest of your artifacts on the blog & Symbaloo webmix (part of the Emerging Technology assignment & TPE portfolio).  I think we are almost finished with everyone's NETS I collaborative narrative.  Along with many of your classmates, I have spent the entire day in the single subject orientation, day two.  It was nice to see so many friendly faces and to know that they have the mad tech skills necessary to create an awesome PLN in the single subject program.

I will do my absolute best to have every single item graded by Wednesday's class so you will know where you stand and what you might need to edit or revise.  As usual, I will be in class early to help anyone who might need some extra assistance.

Tonight's Question:  What has been your favorite assignment in this class and why?

  1. I really enjoyed creating the blog because I now know how to make things for my class and one for myself which could be very interesting if I wanted to start a club at where I am working I could establish a blog seperate from the one that I would use for my classes.

  3. I think when I have a moment to reflect on all that I have learned I will have liked them all. I know I have quite a few things that I am excited to implement in my classroom when we get started at school. I really am excited to build my PLN

  4. I really liked the newsletter, because I could really see myself implementing it in the class. I loved when teachers gave clear instructions for us before new units. My 10th grade English teacher's "Turfler Times" was fun and informative. I would love to keep that going in my class to get the students excited about what we are working on.

  5. I have had a couple favorite assignments. I have enjoyed learning about how to create the blog but the most fun assignment has definitely been the movie.

  6. I loved doing the Diigo Tag roll! Although I am now a Diigo freak and there might need to be and intervention planned!

  7. I think I would have to say the newsletter. I didn't know I can do so much with Microsoft Word. I know it is going to be very helpful in the classroom.

  8. I would have to say that my favorite assignment so far has been the newsletter using Microsoft Word. The assignment made me realize that the program has a lot more potential than just writing an essay. The newsletter also gave me an opportunity to be creative using technology for an educational purpose.

  9. My favorite assignment was the Prezi. First of all, I have no idea how I never heard of it before this class. At SDSU I had to make countless presentations for my Spanish classes and would have DIED to have known about Prezi. Now that I am going to start a new credential/masters program I am excited to have the tool in my repertoire of tech knowledge

  10. So hard to choose. I have learned so much about so many different tools and have really enjoyed that. If I have to be decisive and choose one, I would have to say probably learning how to Prezi. Although I did not learn how to use it very well, I see myself using this in the future and learning how to make better presentations!

  12. The imovie was pretty awesome. It motivated me to make my own movie at home and my parents got a laugh out of it;)

  13. The Prezi assignment was my favorite. If I had been asked this question the day our Prezis were due, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have picked it as my favorite...seeing how I found out in class that I had used a template (on accident) and would need to do it again. When I went home to re-do the assignment I watched a great tutorial that really helped me grasp the concept. It inspired me to try some creative things with the non-linear presentation software and in the end, I was proud of my work.

  14. I really like having a blog! It's something I'd never planned on doing or thought I would enjoy, but I like the way it looks and I like how easy it is to add pictures, comments, links and gadgets to express what I'm thinking about and what I'm learning at the moment.

  15. I enjoyed the Prezi because it's so silly. Out of all things learned in this class, that's the technological piece I feel most inclined to incorporate in the future.

  17. I think my favorite assignment has been the use of Google Drive for writing. It has been something that I have used in my class and worked well. I liked it also because it is an easy way to collaborate with students. It also helps them get an email account and write back and forth with you without even have any paper involved.

  18. I enjoyed making the movie most because I learned new things in iMovie. I agree with Tui about Google Drive though. It has taken over my life! Google Drive is amazing!

  19. I really enjoyed the process of completing the Diigo assignment. Diigo is a great resource. I enjoyed researching the many resources the assignment guided us through. Not only can I see myself using Diigo, but I can see my self using some of the resources provided to complete the assignment.

  23. My favorite assignment so far has been the Diigo bookmarking assignment! It was really fun going through all the sites and finding information that will be useful in the future. More than this, however, I liked that we learned about a new tool that we can utilize in the future.

  24. The iMovie! I've been recording little clips while on vacation and have been dying to learn how to loop some waterfall footage together for a relaxing video. I also have been itching to learn stop-motion animation. This has been a really fun section.
